OVERVIEW
The time has come for us to give you our very first full-length album called ‘The Cause of Shipwreck'! We are filled with pride and excitement about how well the songs fit together on the album and we can't wait to share them with you, but first, we are kindly asking for your support.
INTRODUCTION
Who are we?We are Blackbriar, a Symphonic Gothic Metal band from the Netherlands. After successfully releasing three EPs ‘Fractured Fairytales', We'd Rather Burn' and ‘Our Mortal Remains', we have chosen to continue the independent route. We would like to take you into our fantastical gothic world bolstered by addictive hooks, magnificent arrangements, and dark beauty. We are working with none other than Joost van den Broek (known for his work with Epica, After Forever, Xandria, Powerwolf, and many more!) at Sandlane Recording Facilities. He's done an incredible job in helping us with the arrangements and the production of this album and reaching our full potential. We have never felt more proud of these new songs altogether and we can't wait to share them with you, but first, we are kindly asking for your support. Your support truly means everything to independent artists like ourselves!

We strongly felt like the time has come for us to record our debut full-length album and we have been working on it for quite a while now together with Joost van den Broek. With songs about primeval forces of nature, mythological creatures, bygone times, ghosts hoping to be noticed, darkness and love. ‘The Cause of Shipwreck' will have 10 new songs.

We need to cover all the expenses concerning the production and release of a full-length album, which include:
- Pre-production days at the studio
- Recording, mixing, and mastering
- Artwork and booklet design
- Promotion
We need €25.000 to fully realize this album. This album will be released no matter what, so we can guarantee the delivery of each perk!
Stretched goal:
If we reach €30.000 we can make a music video

Release and delivery
This album ‘The Cause of Shipwreck' will approximately be released at the start of APRIL 2021! However, we will release one or two singles sooner. The official release date will be announced later.

Are you signed to a label or independent?
We have chosen to continue the independent route which gives us all the freedom and
control over our music and choices we make. So we are launching this album without a
record label. You are contributing to an independent artist and we can’t do it without
you!
What happens if the goal isn't reached?
We have been working on our full-length album for a long time and if our goal isn’t
reached, we can guarantee you that the album is still going to be released, but it might
take longer. You will receive your perks no matter what happens.
When will the album be released?
The goal is to release this album early April 2021. We will treat you with a single (or
two) beforehand, of course!
When can I expect my perk?
All perks will be shipped at the release date of the album! However, the digital album +
digital booklet will be sent to you before the release date!
Can I add more than one perk to my shopping cart?
Yes you can!
If I add products that are not part of the crowdfunding campaign, when will I receive
them?
Any item you have added to your order together with a perk from the crowdfunding
campaign will be shipped at the release of the album. If you want to receive the
non-crowdfund item sooner, please make a separate order.

We have reached all of our goals!!!!
After reaching our original goal within 24 hours to make our first full-length album happen, we felt flabbergasted, to say the least. However, it didn't stop there... You managed to blow our minds even further by making us reach ALL of our five stretch goals. Thank you, dear fans, for making all this possible!!! Update 4: 4-11-2020
We have reached our fourth stretch goal today! Are you kidding us?! This means that the
second edition of the 'Snow White and Rose Red' hardcopy single will be printed AND
gifted to all physical orders of our campaign. By physical orders, we mean all orders
that include shipping costs. This also counts for all NEW orders made on our
crowdfunding campaign and will last until the campaign ends! :black_heart: There are
still 30 days of campaigning left and so we have come up with our FINAL stretch goal!
This one's very special and it's something that we have never ever done before... If we
reach this final stretch goal, we will translate one of the new songs into our native
language and Zora will head over to the studio once again to re-record this specific
song in DUTCH! Yes, Dutch! Would you like to hear that?
Update 3: 19-10-2020
Thank you to all the people who contributed to our campaign! We have reached our third
stretch goal, your support has set our hearts on fire, we love you! Since we still have
47 days of campaigning left, we have been contemplating what our next stretch goal
should be and we came up with something very cool. If we reach our next stretch goal, we
will print a second edition of the sold-out 'Snow White and Rose Red' hardcopy single
and we will add it to all physical orders from our campaign as a gift! By physical
orders, we mean all orders that include shipping costs. This also counts for earlier
campaign orders!
Update 2: 11-10-2020
You have managed to blow our minds even further by making us reach our first stretch
goal already! This means that we will be able to shoot a music video for one of the new
songs and we feel immensely grateful for that, thank you! We can't wait to show you what
we have in mind! We have now added new stretch goals to our campaign!
